Quarantine might prevent you from going out, but many top-rated San Francisco restaurants are still offering delivery services

There are many great reasons to live in San Francisco, from the warm and pleasant climate to the vibrant and bustling city life—it's a diverse community full of world-class shopping, fine dining, and plenty to do. Unfortunately, while the world is at a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many residents are stuck indoors.

Thankfully, there are dozens of fantastic restaurants and eateries in the Bay Area that are open for pickup and delivery to make quarantine far more palatable. The following list highlights some of the best dining establishments in San Francisco that are still open for delivery during this trying time.

Red Jade Restaurant

Location: 245 Church St

Phone: (415) 621-3020

For authentic Mandarin Chinese food, there is no better spot in San Francisco than the iconic Red Jade Restaurant. Luckily for everyone in quarantine, the restaurant is still up and running. Delivery options are available through a variety of different apps, and you can also call ahead to pick up your meal if you prefer.

Top menu items include their fried crab meat Rangoon, hot and sour soup, sesame chicken, and potstickers. If you want savory Chinese food that's guaranteed to be hot and delicious, Red Jade is a great choice.

Pancho Villa

Address: 3071 16th St

Phone: (415) 864-8840

Pancho Villa is a no-frills Mexican restaurant that offers delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine. Their Mission-style burritos are a particular favorite among their loyal customers.

Pancha Villa offers a variety of customizable menu items, and their meat burritos can be supersized by adding sour cream, tomato, guacamole, cheese, and more. Make it mojado with savory sauce and more cheese on top. If you want to take it easy on the carbs, you can opt for a burrito bowl instead.

They're one of the best places to get seafood burritos too, serving delectable burritos with everything from prawns to snapper to salmon. They also offer a similar selection for their tacos.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with their sugary treats such as churros, alfajor, and flan.

Conveniently, Pancho Villa offers food delivery via multiple delivery services like GrubHub and UberEats. They also allow their customers to pay for their meals online ahead of time if you plan on picking up food instead of getting it delivered.

The owners of Pancho Villa have perfected their scrumptious burritos and worked hard to create mouthwatering salsa to accompany their nachos.

Proposition Chicken

Address: 1750 Market St

Phone
: (415) 864-2454

Proposition Chicken is maintaining its full restaurant and catering menus for both pickup and delivery, although they do recommend that guests place their orders in advance. Choose your chicken: fried, flipped, and fake! The café serves homemade, delicious chicken-based meals (or fake chicken if you're vegan).

Their signature spice and herb blend adds incredible flavor to each dish and makes their fried chicken irresistible. "Flipped" chicken is a slow-roasted rotisserie chicken and "fake" chicken is crispy barbecue tofu. They also offer wings and strips and plenty of impressive side dishes like their brown sugar Brussel sprouts and sweet buttermilk biscuits.

Pink Onion

Address: 64 14th St

Phone: (415) 529-2635

Founded by Matt Coric and Francesco LoCoco, Pink Onion is a fine dining establishment serving Italian cuisine. Along with their hot, doughy pizza and savory meatballs, Pink Onion is known for its wide selection of beer, which they serve in partnership with Standard Deviant. They have over 13 varieties of pizza and several sublime pasta dishes.

Their pizzas aren't made with eggs or in a coal fire—instead, they’re made-to-order and use homemade ingredients. Even their salads are served with the finest ingredients, including Amphora Nueva's premium olive oils and vinegar. They even import their pappardelle and tagliatelle pasta from a mountain town in Italy. Gluten-free options are also available. Their hours are 4-10 PM every day.

Phat Philly

Address: 3388 24th St

Phone: (415) 550-7428

Just because you're in California doesn't mean you should go without a well-made Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Phat Philly provides city-wide delivery every day from 11 AM to 10 PM through services like Eat24, Order ahead, Postmates, GrubHub, and Caviar.

Their menu is short and sweet with few customization options but everything is delicious and just greasy enough to make it savory. They sell classic cheesesteaks, mushroom cheesesteaks, and combo cheesesteaks.

They even offer a California special, which includes bacon and avocado. You can pair your cheesesteak with waffle-cut fries or onion rings. If you're vegetarian, you can substitute a cheesesteak for a veggie hoagie or a seitan "steak," made of chicken-flavored wheat gluten. If you're vegan, you can even substitute the garlic mayo for veganaise.

Zaoh Restaurant

Address: 1555 Mission St

Phone: (415) 431-3930

Zaoh is best-suited for those who love sushi, udon noodles, and authentic ramen. If you plan on buying sushi from Zaoh, definitely consider trying their chef's roll, spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, or dragon roll.

Some customers have gone so far as to call Zaoh's sushi the best in the Bay Area. Zaoh also offers fantastic happy hour specials and vegetarian options. Their hours are 11 AM to 8:30 PM.

Phone: (415) 565-0655

Tacorgasmico delivers in most areas of San Francisco through delivery services like Seamless and GrubHub every day from 11 AM to 10 PM. Their tacos are both tasty, flavorful, and affordable.

For starters, they offer shrimp ceviche cooked in lime juice, traditional guacamole and chips, and Mexican-style grilled elotes coated in queso fresco and crema Mexicana.

But their real claim to fame is their tacos. They sell burritos, tortas, tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, corditas, tostadas, and more. Pretty much everything is customizable so you can choose your toppings and meat filling—or skip the meat altogether if you prefer.

Maykadeh

Address: 470 Green St

Phone: (415) 362-8286

Orders from Maykadeh must meet a minimum of $34 before delivery can be placed, which doesn't include tips or taxes. However, there is no minimum price to place a pickup order. Maykadeh has been a hotspot for the Persian community since its opening in 1983.

All of its meat and chicken dishes are halal, and the restaurant is in a convenient location at North Beach, meaning their delivery range is pretty wide. Their kebabs and tasty salads are very popular, as well as their homemade baklava and cream caramel.
